This is what I had reported last week.

" IDENTIFYING THE NAMES,PURPOSES,AND CHARACTERISTICS OF  OTHER
            TECHNOLOGIES USED TO ESTABLISH CONNECTIVITY"

Analog Telephone
This technology uses standard voice telephone lines. This type of service uses a modemto place a telephone call to another modem at a remote site, such as Internet Service Provider.

Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL)
DSL is an always-on technology."Always-On"means that there is no need to dial up each time to connect to the Internet.DSL uses the existing copper telephone lines to provide high-speed digital data communication between end users and telephone companies.

Power Line Communication
Power Line communication (PLC) is a communication method that uses power distribution wires (local electric grid) to send and recieve data.
PLC is known by others names:
           *Power Line Networking (PLN)
          *Mains Communication
          *Power Line Telecoms (PLT)

Broadband
Broadband is a technique used to transmit and recieve multiple signals using mulitple frequencies over one cable. For example, the cable used to bring cable television to your home can carry computer network transmissions at the same time.Because the two transmission types use different frequencies, they do not interfere with each other.

VoIP
VoIP is a method to carry telephone calls over the data networks and Internet.VoIP converts the analog signals of our voices into digital information  that is transported in IP packets.
VoIP can also use an existing IP network to provide access to the Public Switched Telephone Network(PSTN).When using VoIP to connect to the PSTN,you might be dependent on an Internet Connection .This can be  disadvantage if the internet connection experiences an interruption in service. When a service interruption occurs, the user cannot make phone calls.
